Ed noted that "Had to Know" was very catchy and had several hooks. He thought I'd probably get tired of playing it after time.
Thanks to the referral of Jason Staczek and Pete Droge, I have the opportunity to have my album mastered by Ed Brooks at RFI Mastering in Seattle.
I am excited to report that things are going great. We are hitting all our milestones in and out of the studio: Seven of eleven songs are have been mixed and the remaining four are very close; Mastering is scheduled for November 10th at Black Belt Mastering, Seattle; The album will be released to backers in early December and released to the public in mid-December!
I am creating my dream album. The musicians on this album are not only the best around, many of them are friends and Islanders. I am thrilled to have them be a part of this; it's magical when you create music with others.
I'm from a small town. Well, that's not entirely true because I was born in Corpus Christi, but my family moved away right after I was born. The small town I'm referring to is a small town in Texas, but small towns have a lot in common no matter where in the world they are.
My daughter came quietly into this world, but not without the sense of adventure that she still seeks out today. She was, and still is, BRAVE, tenacious, and lovely. Without medical intervention, I'm not sure either one of us would have made it past that day.
Well, this got me to thinking... I should play a house concert! That would be the very best way to hear my music... a beautiful setting, a captive audience, a glass of wine...
There is still a ton of work to do to mix and master the songs, but I can safely say that this album is going to be amazing! That's because of my incredible sound engineer and the talented musicians who are coming in to record and are all putting their heart into the songs.
When you support me in this dream, it says that our time together was special to you too. It takes me back to that time in our life - moments when we connected and conversations we had that meant something.
Stop by for a lovely dinner and the best cocktails in town and enjoy some live music. I'll be playing heartfelt originals and cover songs you know and love.
